How to Use: Recovery – My Way
Recovery is individual. This worksheet isn't asking you to follow somebody else's definition of what recovery should look like.
Begin by considering what recovery would mean to you personally.
Think beyond food. What would you like to have more space for in your life? Relationships, interests, work, family, spontaneity, rest, enjoyment or something else?
Then consider what the eating disorder has taken time or energy away from.
Identify the strengths you are already bringing to recovery. These might include persistence, honesty, courage, creativity, asking for help or simply continuing despite difficult days.
It's also okay to acknowledge what feels frightening about change. Recovery and fear can exist together.
Think about what could make change feel safer and what you would eventually like your relationship with food to feel like.
Finish with one small recovery-focused step.
It doesn't have to transform everything. Recovery can be built through many small steps.
