Listening to My Individual Needs — How to Use This Worksheet

There is no single way of eating that works for everybody.

This worksheet encourages you to listen to your own experience rather than automatically labelling foods as “good” or “bad”.

Begin by identifying foods that leave you feeling comfortable.

Then consider foods or situations that sometimes feel more difficult.

Look a little deeper. Is the difficulty actually the food itself, or could portion, timing, texture, smell, environment, stress or another factor be involved?

Consider whether stress changes your response.

The worksheet also encourages you to gently question assumptions you may have developed around food.

If something remains confusing or concerning, note what information might be useful to discuss with an appropriate professional.

Finally, consider what helps you trust your own experience.

Your experience matters, and understanding it can take time.
