My Identity, My Way – What This Worksheet Is For

This worksheet provides a private, affirming space to explore identity in your own words and at your own pace. There is no expectation to choose a particular label, explain yourself to anyone else, or have everything figured out.

Identity can be personal, complex and change over time. This worksheet is about exploration rather than definition.

What to do

Move through each question at a pace that feels comfortable. You might reflect on how you describe yourself, which parts of your identity feel important, and whether there are words or labels that feel right for you. It is completely okay if no label feels right.

You can also think about the people, relationships and environments where you feel most able to be yourself, alongside situations where you feel you need to hide, edit or minimise parts of who you are.

There is no requirement to complete every section. You can write a few words, longer reflections, return to questions later, or leave anything blank.

How it can help

The worksheet can support self-understanding and self-acceptance by giving you space to recognise what feels authentic to you rather than focusing on other people's expectations.

It may help you identify what makes you feel safe and affirmed, where additional support or boundaries might be helpful, and what you wish the people around you understood about your experience.

You may also choose to use your reflections to help communicate your needs to someone you trust, although what you write can remain completely private.

Most importantly, the final question—“One thing I want to honour about myself is…”—invites you to recognise something about yourself with respect rather than judgement.

Your identity belongs to you. You decide what words you use, what you share, with whom you share it, and when.
