Rest, Recovery & Sleep Support

What to do:
Rest is broader than sleep. We may need physical rest, emotional rest, sensory rest, mental rest or simply some time when nothing is being demanded of us.

Use this worksheet to explore what genuine recovery looks like for you.

Think about whether you find it easy to stop or whether you continue doing things even when you are exhausted. Do you experience guilt when you rest? Do you feel that you should always be productive?

Explore what helps your body wind down and what makes rest more difficult. Consider your sensory environment too — lighting, temperature, noise, bedding, clothing and the amount of stimulation around you can all influence how settled you feel.

You can also think about your day and identify somewhere that a short recovery pause might realistically fit.

Rather than trying to create the “perfect” sleep or rest routine, choose one supportive practice that feels achievable and worth protecting.
