SUNDAY NIGHT ANXIETY
When the Week Ahead Feels Overwhelming

Does your weekend seem to change the moment Sunday evening arrives?

For many people, anxiety about work begins long before Monday morning. Thoughts turn towards the alarm, the commute, emails, meetings, workload, difficult relationships or simply the energy it will take to get through another working week. The body may respond too, with restlessness, a churning stomach, headaches, irritability, racing thoughts or difficulty sleeping.

This Workplace Wellbeing resource explores Sunday Night Anxiety with understanding rather than dismissing it as simply the “Sunday scaries.”

The downloadable guide looks at why anticipatory anxiety can develop, masking and neurodivergent transitions, how previous difficult work experiences can teach the nervous system to expect Monday as a threat, and how to identify what your anxiety may actually be pointing towards.

It includes practical ways to contain Monday preparation without giving the whole of Sunday over to work, ideas for creating a gentler transition, managing racing thoughts and sleep pressure, and a simple pattern check to help identify whether particular workplace situations are contributing.

Most importantly, the resource asks a bigger question: does the person simply need another coping strategy, or is their anxiety telling them that something at work needs to change?
