Welcome to the circle

Take a seat in a fictional, guided group experience exploring workplace communication, relationships and inclusion. Meet six characters, hear different perspectives and try gentle activities that you can complete in any order.

Before you begin: These are fictional characters and scripted conversations, not real participants or live counselling. You are not communicating with other visitors. This educational experience does not replace individual support or professional advice.

How it works

Choose a session. There are eight topics; you can move between them freely.

Listen to the group. Select a participant to explore their viewpoint.

Try a response. Consider different ways to communicate; there is no pressure to choose perfectly.

Reflect privately. Type as much or as little as you like, or skip the writing.

Finish when ready. Save your progress on this device or download a personal summary.

Group agreements

These agreements are optional reminders, not a requirement to participate.

Before your first session: questions people often ask

Do I need to share my own experiences?
No. You can read the dialogue, explore other perspectives and move between activities without writing anything. You decide how much to engage with each question. If something feels too personal, skip it.
Are the six group members real people?
No. Sarah, James, Amina, Daniel, Priya and Alex are fictional characters representing different workplace experiences. Their dialogue is written in advance. You are not joining a live group, and no other visitor can read what you type here.
Can I use this if I am a manager or colleague?
Yes. The activities invite you to consider both employee and team perspectives. You can explore how to offer choices, communicate respectfully, avoid assumptions and follow through on commitments.
What if I disagree with a character?
Different people may interpret the same situation differently. You do not have to agree with every viewpoint. Consider what information might be missing, what the impact was and how someone could ask a curious question. Respectful disagreement can be part of healthy communication; it does not require abandoning your own boundaries.
Do I have to tell my employer about a disability?
Disclosure is personal and may depend on the circumstances, the support you need and the rules that apply where you work. This activity does not tell you what to disclose. It can help you prepare a conversation about barriers and adjustments. For specific legal or employment questions, seek reliable advice relevant to your situation.
What if a workplace conversation feels unsafe?
You do not need to rehearse or continue a conversation that feels unsafe. If you are dealing with bullying, harassment, discrimination or a serious conflict, consider documenting what happened and seeking appropriate support through your employer's policies, a representative, an advice service or a qualified professional. Your safety and choices come first.
Will my notes be private?
Notes are stored locally in this browser where storage is available, rather than being sent to a counselling group. They may remain visible to another person using the same device and browser profile. Private browsing, browser settings or clearing website data may remove them. Download a copy if you want to keep it, and avoid including sensitive details about identifiable colleagues.
What if I cannot finish a session?
There is no time limit and no requirement to complete all eight sessions. You can pause, skip a prompt or return to an earlier session. Marking a session complete is simply a way to organise your journey; it does not mean you have mastered a skill or achieved a clinical outcome.

Explore common workplace moments. Choose what you might say, then read a supportive explanation. Responses are examples rather than universal rules; context, safety and personal preference matter.

There is no right way to reflect. You can write one sentence, choose a number or simply think about a question without recording an answer.

A quick check-in

How comfortable do you feel about workplace communication today? This is a personal snapshot, not a score or assessment.

Choose a number if helpful.

My next small step

Think of one practical action that feels manageable. This might be asking for an agenda, clarifying a message, taking a pause or checking in with someone.
