BODY NEUTRALITY
You do not have to love how your body looks in order to treat it with care and respect.
Body Neutrality is a practical Eating Disorders workbook for people who find traditional body-positive messages difficult, unrealistic or pressuring. Instead of asking you to feel positively about your appearance, it helps you move towards less judgement and a more neutral, respectful relationship with your body.
Inside, you can explore body-image triggers, the language you use towards your body, social-media and comparison pressures, and ways to turn harsh appearance judgements into more believable neutral statements.
The workbook also widens the focus beyond appearance, with reflections on what your body allows you to do and experience, what helps your body feel safe or comfortable and how you can practise care even on days when you do not like how your body looks.
A dedicated difficult-body-day section explores checking, comparison, avoidance, boundaries around body-focused conversations, social-media boundaries and ways your support network can help without increasing pressure.
The final page provides a reusable body-neutrality practice, recommended books and UK eating-disorder resources, together with a personal message from Space to Breathe Therapy.
This resource can be used independently or alongside a therapist, eating-disorder professional, dietitian, GP or trusted person. It is designed for reflection and support and does not replace individual medical assessment or eating-disorder treatment.
