Eating Disorder Toolbox - For a Child
This child-friendly toolbox helps a young person put words around food worries, body worries and difficult feelings. It should be used alongside appropriate adult and professional support, never as a way to make a child responsible for managing an eating disorder alone.
Inside, you’ll find practical, gentle prompts for difficult moments, communication ideas and simple ways to make support feel calmer and more manageable. I wanted this to feel like something you can actually come back to - not a list of rules, and not something that expects anyone to get everything right.
Please use what feels helpful and leave what does not fit. Eating disorders are complex and can affect physical health as well as emotional wellbeing, so this resource is designed to sit alongside appropriate professional support rather than replace it.
Warmly,
Maggie
