Understanding Night Eating Syndrome
Night Eating Syndrome (NES) can involve eating
a substantial amount in the evening, waking
during the night to eat, difficulty sleeping,
and reduced appetite earlier in the day.
These experiences may cause significant distress.
Night eating is not a lack of willpower.
Sleep, emotional wellbeing, eating patterns
and other health factors may all be relevant.
This activity is not a diagnostic tool.

Night Eating Syndrome — A Personal Recovery Reflection
My recipe can change.
I can add support, change my plans,
and take things at my own pace.
Recovery and professional support
Night Eating Syndrome can overlap with
sleep difficulties, other eating disorders,
medication effects and health conditions.
If night eating is causing distress,
a GP or qualified eating disorder professional
can help you explore appropriate support.
This activity does not recommend skipping meals,
compensating for eating at night or imposing
strict food rules. Eating disorder recovery
should be guided by individual needs.
