THE EATING DISORDER VOICE
Eating-disorder thoughts can feel convincing, demanding and difficult to separate from your own beliefs. The Eating Disorder Voice is a practical reflection workbook designed to help you notice those messages, understand when they become louder and create more space for your own values and recovery voice.
Inside, you can explore what the eating-disorder voice is saying, how it affects your emotions and what it encourages you to believe about yourself. The workbook looks at hidden rules, feared consequences and the difference between an eating-disorder prediction and what your recovery experience, treatment and trusted support tell you.
A dedicated section helps you reconnect with what matters outside the eating disorder - your values, relationships, needs, hopes and the life you want to build. You can develop believable alternative responses, identify a supportive voice you can borrow and create a short response for moments when eating-disorder thoughts are loud.
There is also a difficult-moments plan covering early warning signs, ways to create distance from thoughts, recovery-supportive actions, reality-checking with trusted people and when to involve professional support.
The final page brings your reflections together and includes recommended eating-disorder reading, UK support resources and a personal message from Space to Breathe Therapy.
This workbook can be used independently or alongside a therapist, eating-disorder professional, dietitian, GP or trusted person. It is designed for reflection and support and does not replace individual medical assessment, nutritional advice or eating-disorder treatment.
