FOODS THAT CAN HELP BLOATING
When bloating is uncomfortable, it can be tempting to search for one perfect food that will settle your stomach. In reality, what helps depends on why the bloating is happening and what your body can comfortably tolerate.
This Space to Breathe Therapy resource explores gentle food choices that may support digestion, including tolerated sources of fibre, oats, fruit and ginger, while explaining why fermented foods and fashionable “gut health” ingredients are not compulsory.
It also considers constipation, hydration, portion size, regular eating and the importance of protecting sensory-safe foods for people with ARFID or restricted eating.
The aim is not to create another list of foods you should eat. It is to help you find nourishing, realistic choices that work with your body and to know when persistent bloating needs medical assessment.
