My Safe Spaces Map

Explore the people, places and spaces where you can breathe a little easier.

A safe or supportive space doesn’t have to be a particular building. It might be a person you trust, your bedroom, an online community, a friendship group, a familiar routine or something you create for yourself.

My Safe Spaces Map helps you notice where you currently experience comfort, connection & belonging, and what contributes to those feelings.

Begin by thinking about supportive people, places, communities, online spaces and things that help when you’re by yourself. You can then place these on your own Safe Spaces Map before exploring what helps you feel listened to, included and comfortable.

The final section gently looks towards creating more supportive spaces through connection, community, boundaries and small changes.

Fill in whichever prompts feel useful. You can type directly into the PDF or print it and add words, drawings and your own connections.

You never have to disclose or share every part of yourself to complete the activity.

This workbook may help with:

Recognising your support network, understanding what helps you feel comfortable, identifying healthy boundaries, exploring belonging, noticing sources of support and thinking about where you might want to create more space for yourself.
