AUTISM MUM SUPPORT - LOSING YOURSELF IN THE CARING ROLE

When so much of everyday life revolves around appointments, school, sensory needs, food, sleep, advocacy and keeping everybody else regulated, Mum's own identity can gradually become quieter.

Losing Yourself in the Caring Role explores what happens when caring becomes almost your entire job description. It looks at friendships, work, interests, relationships, your own health, guilt about choosing yourself, grief for parts of your old life and the particular experience of being a neurodivergent mum while also supporting a neurodivergent child.

This is not another resource telling exhausted mums to add a complicated self-care routine. It is about noticing what has become smaller, reconnecting with preferences and interests in realistic fragments, sharing responsibility where possible and making room for Mum to exist as a whole person inside the family.

The full downloadable resource includes identity exercises, a practical permission list, a seven-day reconnection page, UK support starting points and a personal Message from Maggie.

You do not have to disappear in order to be a devoted mum.
