AUTISM MUM SUPPORT - WHO IS LOOKING AFTER MUM?

So much support around autism understandably focuses on the child, but the mum who is organising, advocating, anticipating, reassuring and holding everything together can become almost invisible.

Who Is Looking After Mum? is a supportive resource created for mothers raising autistic children. It looks beyond generic self-care and explores the hidden mental load, constant vigilance, advocacy fatigue, guilt, exhaustion, relationships, asking for help and what can happen when Mum is neurodivergent too.

This is not a guide telling mums how to parent better. It is a space to recognise the person behind the caring role. The downloadable resource includes practical check-ins, warning signs that your own capacity may be running low, a support-mapping exercise, permission slips, UK support starting points and a personal message from Maggie.

Autistic children deserve understanding and appropriate support. Their mums deserve to be seen and supported too.
