Dyscalculia – The Number Escape Room
Solve the clues, unlock the doors and find your way out.
The Number Escape Room turns practical number challenges into a playful printable adventure. Instead of presenting a traditional sheet of maths questions, each activity becomes a room, lock, bridge, vault or clue that contributes to the final escape code.
The game explores number patterns, quantities, number order, time, shapes, measurement, money, estimation and numerical logic. Players collect code digits as they move through the rooms before solving the final combination.
There is no timer and no expectation that the puzzles must be completed mentally. Calculators, fingers, counters, drawings, number lines, clocks, rulers, coins and support from another person are all welcome.
A separate clue and support guide provides the answers alongside suggestions for making each challenge more accessible if somebody becomes stuck.
The aim is to encourage curiosity, practical problem-solving and confidence with numbers without recreating the pressure of a classroom maths test.
Dyscalculia can affect people in different ways, so performance on this game should not be used to judge ability or to diagnose dyscalculia. This is an engagement and strategy-building resource rather than an assessment.
