Dyslexia Sound Safari – Listen, Match & Discover

Dyslexia Sound Safari is a fun, no-pressure printable activity game designed to explore the sounds inside spoken language in an accessible and playful way.

Across the safari, players explore rhyming words, first sounds, syllables, ending sounds, sound families, sound swapping, listening challenges and silly rhyme-making. The activities can be completed by speaking, pointing, circling, clapping or writing, helping reduce the pressure that can come from relying on written answers alone.

There is no timer and no score to beat. Clues, repetition and support are encouraged. The final activities invite the player to create their own sound challenge and notice which strategies helped them.

The pack also contains a separate answer and support page with guidance for parents, carers, educators and other adults using the resource.

This activity is intended for engagement, confidence and language exploration. It is not a dyslexia screening or diagnostic tool and should not be used to judge intelligence, effort or reading age.
