Sleep Pressure & Sleepiness

Feeling exhausted and feeling sleepy aren’t always the same thing. You might have very little energy yet still find that your body isn’t ready to fall asleep.

This workbook introduces the idea of sleep pressure in an accessible, practical way and helps you become more familiar with your own signs of genuine sleepiness.

You’ll explore the difference between tiredness and sleepiness, identify the physical and mental cues that tell you sleep is approaching, and map how sleep pressure tends to build throughout your day.

The activities also help you notice things that may strengthen, reduce or temporarily mask sleepiness, including naps, evening dozing, caffeine, stimulation, routines and the timing of bedtime.

Rather than giving you rigid rules, the workbook encourages curiosity about your own patterns and small experiments based on what you discover.

Expect: simple sleep education, personal pattern mapping, sleepiness check-ins, practical reflection and gentle experimentation with your daily routine.
