SLEEP WELL, FEEL WELL
Sleep Well, Feel Well is a practical Maggie's Coaching guide exploring how sleep and emotional wellbeing influence one another.
The full PDF explains how sleep can affect concentration, memory, emotional regulation, sensory processing, pain and everyday coping, while also recognising that anxiety, low mood, trauma, grief, neurodivergence, physical illness, hormones and life pressures can all make sleep more difficult.
Rather than presenting sleep as another thing to get perfect, the guide focuses on realistic ways to support rhythm, sensory comfort, evening transitions and a less pressured relationship with bedtime.
There is dedicated guidance for autistic and ADHD readers, including hyperfocus, delayed sleep timing, sensory needs, transition difficulties and external prompts. The guide also covers physical health, alcohol and caffeine, coping after a poor night, and when persistent sleep problems should be medically assessed.
Practical pages include a sleep-and-wellbeing check, a minimum bedtime routine, seven gentle sleep experiments and a daytime wellbeing review. There is also clear information about professional support, CBT-I and symptoms that may need further assessment.
The final section contains a personal message from Maggie, a Carl Rogers person-centred quotation and perspective, recommended books, resources, clinical notes and references.
The central message is that sleep is not a test of character. Sleeping well can help us feel better, and feeling properly supported can also help us sleep.
