Waking During the Night
Waking briefly during the night can be a normal part of sleep but becoming fully alert, uncomfortable or worried afterwards can make getting back to sleep much harder.
This workbook helps you explore your own nighttime awakenings without encouraging you to obsessively monitor every minute of your sleep.
You’ll look at when and how you tend to wake, what you usually do next and possible influences such as temperature, discomfort, dreams, stress, noise, needing the toilet or sleep habits. You’ll then map what happens after an awakening and identify points where you might be able to keep things calmer and less stimulating.
Practical activities help you find realistic ways to settle again and create a simple middle of the night plan that you can follow without having to make lots of decisions while tired.
A seven night experiment then gives you space to notice patterns and discover what makes awakenings easier to manage.
Expect: night time pattern spotting, calming strategies, personalised planning and a gentle 7-night experiment.
