WORD REFLECTION: FUTURE
What happens when your mind is given only part of a word?
Word Reflection: Future is an interactive therapeutic reflection designed to encourage curiosity rather than test whether somebody can find the “correct” answer. Beginning with the incomplete word _ _ _ U R E, it invites you to notice the first word, thought, image or feeling that comes to mind before exploring the intended word: FUTURE.
Inside the interactive PDF, you can type directly into reflective spaces while exploring what thinking about the future brings up for you. The prompts consider hopes and fears, what you would like to make more room for, what you want to carry less of, and the difference between what can be influenced and what cannot be fully controlled.
The exercise then moves gently from reflection into action. You are supported to identify one meaningful possibility, why it matters, one manageable next step, possible barriers, and the support or adjustments that could make that step easier. A grounding section is included for times when future-focused thinking begins to feel overwhelming.
The resource closes with a personal message from Maggie, therapeutic context and suggested further reading. It can be used independently, alongside therapy or coaching, or as a conversation starter.
There is no right answer. The value is in noticing what the exercise brings up for you.

Until next time, give yourself space to breathe.
With love, Maggie
