Yoga for the Mind

Stress and busy thoughts are part of being human, but carrying them without pause can leave us feeling tense, disconnected or overwhelmed. Yoga for the mind uses gentle movement, breathing and attention to create a little more space around what we are experiencing.

The goal is not to empty the mind or force difficult feelings away. Instead, it is to notice the body, return to the present and practise responding with kindness. A beginner-friendly sequence might include child's pose, cat-cow, a supported forward fold, legs up the wall and rest. Choose what feels comfortable and leave out anything that does not.

Even five minutes can be useful. Create a quiet space if possible, use cushions or a chair, and let the breath remain natural. If focusing inward feels upsetting, keep your eyes open and focus on something steady in the room. Yoga may complement mental-health support, but it does not replace professional care. You do not need to do it perfectly; showing up gently is enough.

A gentle reminder: Work within your own comfort and seek individual medical or professional advice where needed.

Until next time, give yourself space to breathe.
With love, Maggie
