Yoga for Workplace Stress

Deadlines, meetings, interruptions and long periods at a desk can place strain on both body and mind. Brief, accessible yoga breaks can help interrupt the build-up of tension and give you a moment to reset without needing special clothing, equipment or a large space.

Try one or two minutes of shoulder rolls, a gentle seated twist, a side stretch or an unforced slower exhale. Keep movements within a comfortable range and adapt them to your mobility, pain levels and surroundings. A small pause may support focus, posture and awareness, but it should not become another demand to complete perfectly.

Personal wellbeing practices cannot fix an unhealthy workplace on their own. Workload, boundaries, management, breaks, accessibility and reasonable adjustments also matter. If stress is ongoing, consider speaking with a manager, occupational health, a union representative or another trusted source of support. Yoga can be one useful part of a wider approach that includes rest, hydration, movement, connection and practical changes at work.

A gentle reminder: Work within your own comfort and seek individual medical or professional advice where needed.

Until next time, give yourself space to breathe.
With love, Maggie
