JUST ONE BISCUIT — BUT THE PACKET IS OPEN

You planned to have one biscuit. But now the packet is open and suddenly you are very aware of everything that is still inside it.

Why can an open packet feel so different? Why do some of us forget about it while others begin an exhausting internal conversation about whether we are allowed another, whether we should put it away, or whether wanting more means we have lost control?

This second resource in the JUST ONE… series explores environmental food cues, restriction, scarcity thinking, distracted eating, automatic reaching and the food rules that can turn an ordinary packet of biscuits into a test of willpower.

Inside the downloadable PDF you will find a gentle packet check-in, ways of distinguishing a cue from a command, discussion of hunger and regular eating, ideas for taking pressure off the decision, guidance on when food anxiety may need additional support, clinical context and a personal message from Maggie.

There is no “correct” number of biscuits in this resource. The purpose is to understand what is happening around the eating — not to judge the person doing it.
