SELF-HARM SUPPORT WALLET CARDS
When distress is intense, it can be hard to remember what helps or who is safe to contact. These wallet-sized support cards create a small, practical prompt that can be completed in a calmer moment and kept close by.
Each card has space for three personal anchors: what may help an urge pass more safely, who you can contact and where you can go. Current UK urgent-support details are printed discreetly at the bottom of every card, so the information remains available after the cards are cut out.
There are eight cards on the printable page. They can be completed with a therapist, GP, support worker, trusted adult, family member or friend. Keep one in a purse, wallet, phone case, bag or another place that is easy to reach. The remaining cards can be shared with key people or kept as spares.
These cards are a prompt, not a complete safety plan. If you have seriously harmed yourself, are in immediate danger or feel unable to keep yourself safe, call 999 or go to A&E. For urgent mental-health support, call NHS 111 and choose the mental-health option.
With warmth,
Maggie
