Loneliness & Grief

Grief can feel incredibly lonely, even when other people are around. You may feel that others do not understand, worry about burdening people or simply not have the energy to explain what you are experiencing.

This worksheet helps you explore what loneliness looks like within your grief. Think about when you feel most alone, who you feel safe with, what makes reaching out difficult and what you actually need from other people.

Support does not always have to mean talking about grief. You may need someone to listen, sit quietly with you, help with something practical, provide distraction or simply be present.

By identifying what feels helpful and what does not, you can begin to understand the type of connection that feels manageable for you and perhaps identify one person you could reach out to when you need company or support.
