What support might I get?

There is no set amount for an Access to Work grant, as the recommendations of support are tailored to your specific needs. What you get depends on your circumstances, however, grants are capped to a certain amount each year.

  • adaptations to the equipment you use

Childhood Trauma and Its Lasting Impact

When trauma occurs in childhood, it can disrupt a child’s sense of safety and attachment. Experiences such as abuse, neglect, witnessing domestic violence, or being separated from caregivers can leave deep emotional scars. If unresolved, childhood trauma can carry over into adulthood, making it more difficult to trust others, feel safe, and manage emotions.

Healing from childhood trauma is possible, even if it happened many years ago. Therapy can help you reconnect with yourself, build resilience, and restore a sense of emotional balance.

What can I do to help?

I am able to help you throughout the process, including answering initial questions, going through the application forms online and giving advice where needed – I am happy to provide as much or as little support as you feel you require. I can also offer Coaching sessions afterwards if these form part of your award.

If you are currently struggling with organisation, admin, etc. in your job and feel you might be entitled to ATW, please do get in touch – there is a lot of help available
