Living with Neurodivergence

Living with ADHD and autism offers a unique lens on the world. ADHD fills me with vibrant energy and creative bursts, but it also brings challenges with focus, organisation, and sensory overload. Autism shapes my social awareness, sensitivities, and need for routines that ground me amid the chaos. My neurodivergence has cultivated a deep sense of empathy and patience. It's taught me that everyone perceives and processes the world differently, and that understanding and acceptance are essential.

Food Intolerances & ARFID

I manage several food intolerances including yeast, milk, soy, gluten, and certain additives, which significantly impact my daily life. These can cause digestive issues, fatigue, skin reactions, and mental fog.

Living with ARFID (Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder) has taught me that eating disorders are not simply about body image; they're often about deeper fears, sensory challenges, and the gut-brain connection.

The Gut-Brain Connection

My challenges with intolerances and ARFID have shown me how crucial it is to view eating disorders holistically. The gut and brain are deeply interconnected - what affects one often impacts the other.

For many with eating disorders, including ARFID, addressing physical health, sensory sensitivities, and emotional triggers together is essential for healing.

Understanding Your Food Intolerances

To support my clients in understanding their food intolerances more clearly, I personally recommend YorkTest, a trusted brand I've used myself. Their Premium Food Intolerance Test (IgG) checks reactivity to over 200 food and drink ingredients, using a simple finger-prick blood sample.

If you're thinking of trying a test for yourself, you're very welcome to drop me a message. I can share an exclusive discount and talk you through how it could support your wellbeing journey.
