ACE Log — Achievement, Closeness & Enjoyment

When life feels difficult, our attention can naturally become drawn towards what has gone wrong, what we have not managed to do, or what still needs fixing. Small moments of achievement, connection or enjoyment can pass almost unnoticed.

The ACE Log is a gentle practical worksheet designed to help you notice more of those moments.

ACE stands for Achievement, Closeness and Enjoyment. Achievement might be completing something, coping with a difficult situation or taking care of yourself. Closeness is about connection — with another person, an animal, a community or even yourself. Enjoyment can include pleasure, but it can also be comfort, interest, calm, curiosity or simply a moment that felt a little easier.

You will find daily ACE trackers, reflection exercises, prompts for recognising patterns and practical planning pages. You can score activities from 0–10, but the numbers are not targets and there is no 'good' ACE score.

This resource is particularly useful when motivation or mood is low because it deliberately makes room for small steps. Getting dressed can be an achievement. Sending one message can create closeness. Sitting with a warm drink can provide enjoyment. Rest can also be an important part of the picture.

The purpose is not to turn your day into another task to complete. It is to help you build a fuller, kinder picture of what you are experiencing and discover which everyday activities support you.

Sometimes the moments that help us through are much smaller than we expect — and they still count.
