Ask for One Thing

When you are already overwhelmed, asking for help can feel like another task. You may know you need support but not know how to explain what is happening or what another person could actually do.

Ask for One Thing is a practical resource about making support smaller and clearer. Rather than trying to explain everything, it encourages one concrete request: make this call, sit with me while I start, listen without fixing, help me choose what comes first, or give me ten minutes of quiet.

The resource explores practical, emotional and decision-making support, the fear of being a burden, and alternatives for times when speaking is difficult. It also recognises that sometimes support means less input rather than more.

The downloadable PDF includes a One-Thing Check-In, examples of clear requests, a simple communication script and a personal message from Maggie.
