Do the Next Tiny Step
When the whole task appears in your mind at once, even getting started can feel impossible. Do the Next Tiny Step is a practical resource for reducing a large, overwhelming demand into one clear action.
Rather than asking yourself to finish everything, this approach asks: what is the smallest useful thing I can do next? That might mean finding the form rather than completing it, putting your shoes by the door rather than committing to a walk, or opening one important email rather than clearing the whole inbox.
The resource explores why large tasks can contain many hidden executive-function demands and why making the first instruction smaller can reduce pressure. Importantly, a tiny step is not a trick: you are allowed to stop after it if that is what your capacity allows.
The downloadable PDF includes examples, a Tiny-Step Check-In, prompts for breaking down hidden steps, supportive guidance and a personal message from Maggie.
