HEALTHY BALANCE — PERSONAL SCALE
Check in. Reflect. Find your balance.
Balance does not mean dividing every part of your life into equal pieces.
It means noticing whether the amount you are giving out is sustainable compared with what is coming back in.
The Healthy Balance — Personal Scale is a practical reflection worksheet designed to help you explore the weight of responsibilities, work, caring, other people's needs and everyday demands alongside rest, relationships, physical needs, enjoyment, emotional wellbeing and time for yourself.
Inside the full guide you will find:
• an explanation of what healthy balance can really mean
• a full personal balance rating scale
• work, responsibilities and caring demands
• rest, sleep and physical-needs check-ins
• relationships, enjoyment and time-for-yourself ratings
• a worksheet for identifying what is weighing you down
• recognition of invisible demands and emotional labour
• a restoration and recovery assessment
• prompts for boundaries, delegation and reducing demands
• a “good enough” reflection
• a one-week balance experiment
• a personal message from me
Your balance is personal.
Something that restores one person may drain another. Socialising can be energising or exhausting. Quiet can be optional for one person and essential for somebody else.
And balance does not have to mean that the scales are perfectly level every day.
Sometimes life genuinely asks more of you.
The important question is whether you have been carrying too much for too long without enough recovery, nourishment, connection, enjoyment or space coming back in.
Your needs are not extras that you earn when everything else is finished.
Sometimes rebalancing starts with one small change: one boundary, one task shared, one expectation softened, one proper rest, or one piece of time that belongs to you.
The aim is not a perfectly balanced life.
It is a life in which you are included in the things you take care of.
