HIERARCHY OF FEARED SITUATIONS
A fear hierarchy turns a large or vague fear into a series of specific, graded situations.
This sheet offers five steps with space to rate anticipated, peak and later distress. The ratings guide planning; they are not a pass or fail score.
Begin with a step you choose, repeat when useful and adjust the ladder as you learn. Progress may mean approaching, staying present or reducing one safety behaviour.
Seek appropriately trained support when fears are severe, trauma-related, medically complex or connected with significant risk.
With warmth,
Maggie
