Lower the Noise
Sometimes overwhelm is not one big thing. It is the television, the notifications, the conversations, the open tabs, the clutter, the decisions and the expectation that you will keep responding to all of it.
Lower the Noise explores the different forms that overload can take — including auditory, visual, digital, emotional and mental input — and encourages you to reduce just one layer rather than trying to create a perfectly calm environment.
The resource also considers sensory overload and neurodivergence, physical warning signs that your system may be reaching capacity, and practical ways to create a lower-noise option at home, at work or during a difficult moment.
The downloadable PDF includes a Lower-the-Noise Check-In, sensory prompts, practical adjustments, guidance on reducing response demands and a personal message from Maggie.
