POSITIVE PERSONAL QUALITIES
Recognise your strengths, build your confidence and see the real you

How easy is it for you to name the things you dislike about yourself — and how much harder is it to name your strengths?

Many of us become very practised at noticing mistakes, weaknesses and the things we think we should change. Positive qualities can become much harder to see, particularly after difficult experiences, criticism, rejection, comparison or low self-esteem.

Positive Personal Qualities is a supportive resource designed to help you build a more balanced picture of yourself.

This is not about pretending to be perfect or forcing yourself to use positive affirmations you do not believe. It is about looking for genuine evidence of the qualities you already demonstrate in everyday life.

Inside the guide you will find:
• an explanation of positive personal qualities and why recognising them matters
• prompts for finding strengths you may overlook
• a wide range of qualities to explore
• a printable five-qualities worksheet
• guidance for finding real-life evidence for your strengths
• a simple qualities log you can continue using
• support around compliments, comparison and self-criticism
• ideas for using your existing strengths when facing difficulties
• a supportive message from me

Your strengths do not have to be dramatic.

Perhaps you kept going when something was difficult. Maybe you listened when somebody needed you, adapted when a plan changed, asked for help, learned something new, set a boundary or tried again after a setback.

Those moments can tell you something important about who you are.

You are allowed to recognise your strengths while still having areas you want to work on. Both can be true.
