THE SELF-CARE PILLARS
What Is Holding You Up Right Now?

Self-care is much more than treats or finding time to relax. It is the collection of everyday supports that help hold us up: rest and sleep, nourishment, movement and physical care, emotional wellbeing, connection, boundaries, our environment, purpose and joy, practical help and professional support.

This resource invites you to look at those areas without judgement and ask a different question: what is already supporting me, and which pillar is wobbling right now?

The full guide includes:
• 10 practical self-care pillars
• rest, sleep, nourishment and physical care
• emotional wellbeing and connection
• boundaries and people-pleasing
• sensory and environmental needs
• purpose, meaning and enjoyment
• practical and professional support
• a “Which pillar is wobbling?” audit
• a personal reflection
• minimum viable self-care for exhausted days
• weekly self-care review
• supporting someone else
• book recommendations and clinical/source notes

A message from Space to Breathe Therapy:
You do not need every pillar to be perfect. Start with what is already holding you up. Notice what needs strengthening. Then choose one small, realistic action that gives you a little more room to breathe.

Until next time, give yourself Space to Breathe.
